“We support marriage equality. We consider marriage equality a human right and see it, therefore, not as a political question but as a spiritual one. We believe that love is the foundation of all major religious philosophies, and therefore we support the expression of love in same-sex couples and the right of same-sex couples to marry.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Couples who want to get married – How to Register

To register, you can visit this link: https://secure.spiritualliving.org/np/clients/spiritualliving/event.jsp?event=989

Once you are registered, you will receive a confirmation packet with instructions, directions, and tickets for your 6 guests.

Marriage License Info
Marriage licenses for same-sex couples are expected to be issued starting December 6. Details on the process for that day will be posted as soon as they become available.

Can I attend the wedding as a spectator?
Due to our facility size, the event is currently only open to the marrying couples and their guests, and a few select press representatives. We are hoping for 100 couples and 6 guests for each couple, which will fill all of our seats. If we don’t get all 100 couples, there will be room for spectators. You can watch our website or Facebook page for info on this closer to the date – if we do open it up to the public, we will announce it on those sites.

Do children count in the 6 guests allotment?
The six guest count does include children who require a seat, but not babes-in-arms.

Info on the Ceremony
Rev. Kathianne Lewis and Rev. Michael Ingersoll are planning to do the ceremony, with support from several of our staff ministers and prayer practitioners. The musicians are Jonakan O'Steen, Richard Held, Matthew Wilson, Beverly Daugherty and Garnett Hundley. Details of the ceremony are coming together. It will certainly be sacred and celebratory. Guests will be seated in the stationary seats on the lower and upper levels of Celebration Hall. Couples will process in and fill the front area in front of the stage. The ceremony itself will last about 30 minutes, with about 30 minutes each given for processional and recessional.

Schedule for the Day
Registered couples will be asked to arrive early, starting at 11:30am, where they will be assigned a number and their wedding license will be checked for completeness and accuracy (in the Sanctuary). Couples can get their photo taken together (Sanctuary stage), and then have refreshments and relax in the Fellowship Hall until time to line up for the ceremony. They will all proceed into the Celebration Hall together for the ceremony, then proceed out afterwards to have the ministers and witnesses sign your marriage license (Sanctuary in front of the stage). We will provide the ministers and 2 witnesses to sign each license. After couples’ paperwork is complete, they will be free to go and celebrate off site with their loved ones.

Parking/Shuttle
We will have shuttles running between CSL and the 70th and Sand Point parking lot (Children’s Hospital Administrative Building), as well as parking in our own lot. Shuttles are generously provided by Starline.
