All-Community New Minister Co-Creation Service
Thursday, May 7 | 6:00–9:30pm
Registration required | In person and online participation available

Join us for the first step in the New Minister Co-Creation Process!

The purpose of this work is to support our community in establishing the shared consciousness that will call forth our next Spiritual Director. This process is unlike most traditional selection methods. Rather than focusing only on evaluation and decision-making, it invites the community into a sacred exploration that often reveals new possibilities in surprising and meaningful ways.

During the first session, the community gathers for an evening of reflection and discovery. A key part of this experience is exploring and updating the ideas we may carry about ministers or spiritual authority figures based on past experiences. Participants often have meaningful insights and “aha” moments as they recognize how previous experiences may shape current expectations. By bringing awareness to these beliefs, the group opens space for new possibilities and fresh perspectives. This session lays the foundation for the deeper covenant work that follows and is the most important part of the process.

Because this gathering includes shared practices and participant materials, registration is required. When registering, you’ll indicate whether you plan to attend in person or online, helping us prepare thoughtfully.

We encourage those who are local to join us in person, while remaining grateful that online participation allows members of our wider community to be part of this sacred process.

This session will be facilitated by Rev. Dr. Penny Macek, who brings deep experience in spiritual leadership and transformational community processes. Details about Penny and the full co-creation process are included below.

Reverend Dr. Penny Macek has been involved with Religious Science since 1992 and her career as a minister began in 1999.  She has served as an assistant minister, senior minister and interim minister. Serving communities in San Juan Capistrano CA, Lake Tahoe CA, and Phoenix AZ. She currently serves the Christ Church of Co-Creation in Caroga Lake, NY. In addition, she has served the international organization in several capacities including: as a lay member of the board of Directors, chair of the Golden Works committee, chair of the Co-Creation Facilitation team, as a Regional Support Coordinator and as an Interim Minister.

Prior to minister Rev. Penny spent 17 years in the construction industry. She knows and appreciates the value of building a strong foundation. She has built her ministries in a similar fashion. She says, “The only difference now is that I’m helping to build lives rather than structures, a much more rewarding line of work.”

She is described by many as a principle-centered being and a very powerful practitioner. She is known for creating, holding, and facilitating the space in which deep healing takes place. In clear, loving, compassionate and practical ways, she illustrates the principles of this Science of Mind. In January of 2017, Centers of Spiritual Living awarded her an Honorary Doctorate.

In her free time, she enjoys the silence, hiking, camping, skiing, movies, travel and time with her grandkids.
