Creativity as a Spiritual Practice Class for the Year

01/15/2026 06:30 PM - 07:30 PM PT

Description

Do you make time for a deep connection with Spirit? Do you yearn for creative expression that elevates your consciousness?

Here is an answer to your prayer. This year-long class encourages you to listen and respond to your own creative urges.

The Creative process is at the heart of Science of Mind teachings. For twelve months we will explore and engage with twelve different creative genres and their relationship to Science of Mind spirituality.

Topics will include writing, poetry, painting, gardening, music, improv, photography and video, storytelling, dance, horror (embracing your shadow), culinary arts, and an end of year showcase from year-long participants' work.

Each Zoom session includes “studio time” a kind of interactive icebreaker and group discussion or engagement with the genre of the month, an interactive presentation by one of the instructors, and then concludes with reflection on personal outcomes from the class.

Each month you can register just for that topic, or, you can sign up for the whole year.

3rd Thursday of each month, 6:30-8:00pm
Instructors: Rev. Andrea Weatherhead and Chris Coy, RScP
Location: Zoom (link information will be sent out the weekend before, as well as an hour prior to class)
Fee: $240 ($20/class) for the entire year, including recordings for all 12 classes.
Or register month to month at $25/class

If you only want to register for January, click this link to be taken to January's event page..

Rev. Andrea Weatherhead loves the creative process, its unknowns, its messiness, and the way it divinely takes unique form in, and through, each person. She has directed creative teams for exhibit design and development, editorial, graphic design, multimedia, audio and video production, sound design, and music composition, for over 20 years. She is a former recording engineer producer, sings and plays guitar in bands and loves to write. She is excited to join others interested in exploring and celebrating creativity as a spiritual practice in these monthly gatherings where she hopes attendees will join in community to be inspired by Creative Source and one another.

Chris Coy: Chris has over 25 years as an actor, teacher, playwright, and director. She began as a children’s drama teacher but quickly discovered the joy in helping adults rediscover their creativity. She found theater improvisation to be a key factor in her spiritual evolution and hopes to bring the magic of improv to other adults.
