Centennial Kick-Off Concert & Virtual Speakeasy

04/30/2021 07:00 PM - 09:00 PM PT

Description

In 1921, on the heels of a pandemic, Netta Holmes had a vision to create a place where like-minded people could come together in community. The Center for Constructive Thinking in downtown Seattle was born. 100 years later, Center for Spiritual Living Seattle is a thriving spiritual community where people from all walks of life come together to celebrate Spirit, connection, and community.

Virtual Speakeasy

Drop by our Virtual Speakeasy at 6pm Pacific on Zoom before the concert, it’ll be the Bee’s Knees!

Get yourself some giggle water (or mocktail for the tee-totalers) inspired by the times. We've gathered some fun 1920's inspired drink ideas for your sipping pleasure. Click for cocktail and mocktail recipies. Come as a flapper, a gangster, or come as you are. Don’t forget to your drink as we bump gums…it’ll be the cats’ meow!

Centennial Kick-off Concert

You're invited to help us launch Center for Spiritual Living Seattle’s 100th Anniversary Celebration at our Centennial Kick-Off Concert April 30, 7pm Pacific!

Your hosts for the evening, Rev. Abigail Schairer and Ray Houle, will take you on a trip back to 1921 where it all started with music performed by LaVon Hardison and Friends, interspersed with history and stories about our beloved center. Put on your hoofer shoes for the big reveal of our Centennial Dance and get ready to cut the rug!

Register for limited in-person seating or join us on Livestream or Facebook Live.

We are excited to celebrate this evening with you and encourage those attending virtually and in-person to put on your glad rags and get dolled up for the occasion!

Make a Special Gift to the Centennial Growth and Legacy Fund

In celebrating our rich history of the last 100 years, we are devoted to expanding our community so that all involved can thrive, discover their Spiritual Source, and be a catalyst in creating a world that works for everyone.

The world has changed quite a bit in the last 100 years, and Center for Spiritual Living Seattle has been on the forefront of that change. We were among the first new thought communities to be founded by a female minister. We have seen our community through two World Wars, the Great Depression, 9/11, the Great Recession, and now two global pandemics. We were a key ally and supporter during the AIDS epidemic, and now to our Black, Indigenous, and People of Color community as we work to make our organization an example of diversity and inclusion.

We have provided years of support to our local community through our Create a Better World program with Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding Seattle, and our Soup-er Bowl fundraising for the unhoused and food insecure.

We’ve seen times of boom and bust, and yet Center for Spiritual Living Seattle continues to be a beacon of light for our local and global community.

You can be a pivotal voice in our dream for the next 100 years by making a special gift to The Centennial Growth and Legacy Fund. You will be instrumental in expanding our programs and services, enabling incredible opportunities for us to be a Force for Good both locally and globally.

Your gift ensures that we continue to offer world class talks, innovative educational programs for spiritual and personal growth, and nourishing support groups. It also allows us to focus on our families with Seabeck Scholarships and Educational scholarships for those who need financial support. With your help, we intend to inspire and empower as many people as possible to develop a closer relationship to their personal idea of God, creating more harmony among people and with our precious Earth.
