Ukrainian Egg Decorating: Pysanka - March 2018 - CANCELLED
03/04/2018 01:30 PM - 04:30 PM PT
Description
Pysanka is an Easter egg decorated using a wax method (aka batik) deriving its name from the Ukrainian verb pysaty, meaning “to write.” This form of folk art is pre-Christian, at least 7,000 years old, featuring designs with symbolic meaning in vibrant colors. Creating Pysanka is a meditative experience and a decorated egg represents a token of love, friendship, and protection. You will design your own egg, using basic techniques and drawing examples.
