Most Americans see "religion" as an isolated topic—largely due to our unique first amendment and a curious educational system that breaks classes into separate topics. Historically, no other culture has ever isolated their “religion” from their politics, culture, spirituality, ethics, entertainment and behavior. Therefore, in order to understand the “religions of the world”, we must understand that ancient Egyptians, Pagans, Chinese, Greeks, Hindus, Native Americans & Africans, etc. always rooted their whole lives in what we Americans erroneously label “religion” as a separate topic. Also included in this introductory class, we will see how even modern atheists are “religious” in the ancient sense of the word.
